Changes

I always believe the only constant in this world is change. Over these years while I had 'disappeared', I have changed in many ways.

1. Alias
I have stopped introducing myself as Jino. Instead, I am back to my own name.

"Hi, my name is Jinq. How's it going?"

Any reason for this? Nothing particular. Do you agree my name is kinda cool?

2. Health
In a blink of an eye, I have joined the 30s club last year. There's nothing to proud of. I have failed in many things in life. I continue to be a disappointment to people around me. Somehow, warning signs of midlife crisis have become so apparent now I look like in my late 50.

More white hair than my usual black silky hair.
Backache is so often I groan in pain.
Low sex drive to a point my bf complains so much.
Loss in appetite.
Yet I put on so much weight.
My belly is so big it almost blocks me from seeing my dick.
Easily fatigue just by staying idle.
Constant breathing difficulty and chest pain.
Suffered my first migraine last year and it has become more frequent.

I know I am stress at work and I haven't worked out recently. I want to start swimming but I can't swim.

3. Social media
If you haven't seen any feed in your Facebook about me, that is because I had removed everyone from my Facebook friend list. Oh, that was a drastic move I did over my bf's insecurity in our relationship. The same goes to my contact numbers on my phone. There are only a handful of numbers in my Whatsapp. I still keep my Instagram for photos though.

On a brighter note, now I have more time playing mobile phone games.

4. Career
I have thought about moving up the career ladder for several years now. And so the opportunity is here. My manager asks me to go for it.

Should I just do what I am doing to get 5 figures pay? Or should I work harder and set my expectation higher? Or should I simply resign and move to other roles of lesser stress?

I am contemplating.

5. Togetherness
I miss the days I watched movies in cinema alone. I could apply half day leave from work and enjoy a sinful waffle in the cafe. Or just a random trip to overseas, anywhere, alone.

Those were the days. Now that he is around, this is never possible. Ever.

There are times I really want to be alone. This bit hasn't changed in me.

6. Friends
When was the last I met my friends? Probably twice in two years. Why is this so?

Mainly because he wants to tag along all the time yet his free time is so limited.

Trust me, he was extremely upset when I went out without him.

2 years ago after

2 years ago, Jino didn't like watching movie in cinema. He chose to download from home and watch from his comfortable couch while his lover hugs him from his side.
2 years after, Jino is ok to spend money on cinema. MYR 3.00 for a bottle of mineral water? Bo bun tui~

2 years ago, there were only 3 reasons Jino will spend more than MYR 50.00 on food; Valentine's Day, Mother's Day and Anniversary Day.
2 years after, Jino will find excuses every week and becoming fatter like no body's business.

2 years ago, Jino had 4 tops, a pair of shorts, a pair of jeans and a pair of shoes at a time.
2 years after, Jino had 13 tops, 4 pairs of shorts, 3 pairs of long pants and 3 pairs of shoes.

2 years ago, Jino thought that masks are for girls.
2 years after, Jino is looking for affordable facial saloon.

2 years ago, Nokia 2100 was the best.
2 years after, Jino is breaking his head which is better; iPhone or Samsung Galaxy.

2 years ago, Jino would pick capsicum out from his pizzas.
2 years after, you can see Jino eating raw capsicum.

2 years ago, Jino tabulated his daily spending to the lowest cents, so he can track his spending power for the next 3 months.
2 years after, he can find money every where. In car, pockets, drawers, under his bed, some one's house. 'Coz he cannot recall how much money he has.

2 years ago, Jino was not afraid of injection.
2 years after, his face turns blue when he sees blood donation drive and health inspection.

2 years ago, Jino would not spend money on games. He earned money from games.
2 years after, he begins to invest in games that does not promise any return.

2 years ago, Jino's driving speed was 40 km/h on a clear highway.
2 years after, he has increased the speed to average 50 km/h.
_________________________________________________________________________________

2 years ago, Jino was very blur and passive.
2 years after, he is very much the same.

2 years ago, Jino was working in the call centre,
2 years after, he is working in the same office.

2 years ago, Jino did not believe in God.
2 years after, he is very much the same.

2 years ago, Jino's purchase decision was based on price.
2 years after, he is very much the same. But the standard has increased.

2 years ago, Jino is fugly.
2 years after, he is very much the same. Some may see him differently.

2 years ago, Jino hated shitake mushroom.
2 years after, he is still the same.

2 years ago, Jino liked formal attire.
2 years after, he is very much the same.

2 years ago, Jino was a pervert.
2 years after, he is very much the same.

2 years ago, Jino has no sexual interest on girls.
2 years after, he has not shown any sign of change.

2 years ago, those who had seen said little Jino was huge.
2 years after, he is very much the same.

Quarter 4 of 2012

It's clear I have been missing in action for real long. This is a combination of several overdue posts and current events; just exactly slackers like me always do.

_________________________________________________________________________________

October

Birthday celebration is seriously my least favourite agenda of the year. Ever since I removed my date of birth from every social network, to my relief no one remembers my birthday. No Facebook, SMS and Whatsapp spamming. There are less than 5 people who remember my birthday while another 10 were informed 'coz they are important to me. What can I expect? Not even my family realized my birthday had passed.

Generally, my October weekends were filled with food and food, in the name of birthday celebration.

09 October 2012 - Ho Ho Steamboat, Sri Petaling with Khai.

10 October 2012 - Choong Huat Steamboat, Cheras with Bin Bin & Dragon Steamboat with Huskii.

12 October 2012 - Birthday e-card

12 October 2012 - Suki-ya, Pavilion with Max.

27 October 2012 - Secret Recipe, Leisure Mall with Boon.
This was my only birthday cake for 2012. I may have lost my sweet tooth, but this boy is so sweet to buy me a birthday cake and I cannot declined his treat.

27 October 2012 - Victoria Station, Jalan Ampang with Max.
Honestly speaking, the Victoria Station in Jalan Ampang is seriously lacking food quality, ambiance and customer service. I was really not happy with the meal that day. Please visit the outlet in PJ if you insist on Victoria Station.

November

November was a month I saw extreme changes in DarkSac. He now runs 12% faster than he previously could. His HP doubled. He has a new attire. He has the highest survival rate in all dungeons. And most importantly, he has a gift pet named after the fattest cat, BuBuii. The only part of DarkSac remained unchanged is his insignificant damage output.

I can never grow bored with DarkSac, for I have invested a lot of my time and concentration on him. Of 'coz my mum is not happy with how I tolerated my health into computer games. But... oh well.

I love playing support because I get to save and help out my team mates. But I hate when they get multi kills thanks to me and don't even say thanks.

December

Wedding is a complicated procedure to be together with the one you temporary love. Few years later the quality of love deteriorates and another complicated procedure is proposed. What was it again? Ah, yes!!! Divorce!!! On a lighter note, some people never divorce; either they are too dumb or they died too early.

It's my brother's wedding but I cannot imagine myself busy for him every weekends in December. You are right. Every weekend in December was his wedding. It's not even my wedding!!! And what're my rewards? Scolding and humiliation...

I wish you both happily ever after.

My latest look.

Upgrade. Starvation. OT. FB.

Just about to blog something interesting and I accidentally clicked on blogger new interface. WTF? I seriously hate this new layout. It's so plain!

What's the interesting thing? Beat me, now that I am angry with this new interface I forgot what I wanted to write! Damn...

Anyway, most of you have not realized that my old Facebook was deactivated many months ago. Reason which I don't plan to share publicly, only few knew. Sorry and thanks. Things have changed in many ways as we moved on. After four months of disappearance, I returned to Facebook not because I cannot live without it. An agreement was signed. Such agreement would allow me to pierce my ears if I can return my Facebook to its former glory. There were many promises violated when I started this new account. Again I apologize to all involved. But let's not dwell in the past. If you are here and couldn't find my name in your Facebook, please click on the Facebook icon below the blog title and you will be led to where I reside. If you are interested, that is. No obligation.

Using Nokia 5800 XpressMusic for less than 5 months, the mobile is upgraded to iPhone 4 above. Truth be told, seeing one using iPhone on the street to be so common that I feel more superior to use Nokia 5800. At any rate, an iPhone as so zai's graduation gift isn't too much as long as it makes him happy. Which is mine? Guess and you shall be rewarded.

To buy two iPhones does not mean I am rich. Two iPhones in the given time is definitely inappropriate to the year end budget. If I calculated correctly, I will need to save at least RM 1,700 from this month to cover the iPhones and Taiwan expenses for two pax by next September. It sounds impossible but it's achievable - 'coz I am Jino. To achieve these, I need to carefully lessen GSC, Sushi Zanmai, petrol and condoms. To suffer slight starvation and constant overtime (OT) would hasten the process. I sound crazy but they worth my effort. Does that explain my fatigue and low sex drive?

The 1st interview

I had my 1st interview in Bangi as a graduate 2 days ago. It's inevitably hard to shake off the fear and worries despite my attempt to calm down. I've written scripts on "describe yourself" at home but when asked, my mind wasn't straight. Rather, I answered what normal people won't speak of such as "this is my 1st interview after graduation" and "I have no experience in this field at all". Then I expected questions such as "why should we hire you?" or "what do you see in the next 2 years?" thrown at me. Instead, they directly asked related to my academic.

Interviewer: Do you know what is HPLC?
Jino: Yes, I do. We used that machine during one of our practical lab works in uni.
Interviewer: Then can you briefly describe how the machine works?
Jino: ... (shit) (trying to recall)
Interviewer: Is there mobile phase? Column?
Jino: /nod head. Yea and that machine separates substances based on... (trying to recall again).
Interviewer: Polarity?
Jino: /smile. Yes, polarity.

HPLC is a technique which appeared everywhere in my syllabus but the tension had me not recalled anything. I did my homework but there's no way I could cover 3 years of studies in a short time. HPLC was one that I forgot to read up and I've screwed up as you can see. Then they convert the question to UV spectrophotometer and finally the job scope. When the interview came close to an end, they disclosed the salary of that position which honestly, was a disappointment. I am not expecting much to begin with (Who am I? Only a fresh graduate), but I insisted on the interview so that I can prepare myself better for the future, mentally and academically. This is a good lesson, I did it for experience, better than none at the least. Study before interview!

There's slim chance they will call me again due to my performance. If by chance they ring me up, I have to think double twice as the company restricts employees to work in the same field within 3 years after resigning. That's what I was told. I may misheard.

My ex, XB had succeeded in an interview and will start his job as a customer service officer in Damansara. He introduced me to an agent that links to the same company as his, hoping that we will work together. As a fresh graduate the offered salary is very tempting. However, 10 years of science followed by customer service, to me, is really a turn off.

July has come

The passage of time is not what it seems. Time passes faster sometimes and slower at other times. It speeds when I play games. Time crawls when I read. While I did not allow myself to believe Jino is jobless, I cannot deny them now. Convocation is around the corner of calendar. So many errands to complete for convocation. Payments must be made by the end of the month. Where comes the money, tell me? Jino oh Jino...

The convocation fee is inclusive of 2 guests entree cards, of which I scratch my head hard since last week to figure out who to invite. My parents were not in good terms but I presume both wish to see me in graduation robe. My bf is also dieing to come along but to think that he has to accompany either my parent for long hours terrifies me a lot. Since 'purchasing additional entree card' is not found anywhere in the convocation handbook, I already expect the worst. My mum is my first priority, who should be the second?

There are many blogs I missed since my disappearance. And there's no promise I will leave comment on every blog post I read, but I will make sure I start reading from where I stop. The process might consume more than a week. Of all, the first blog I read is carpe diem's.

Melaka, besides its historical pages printed on books, is also referred as another food haven in the country. Following Lok Mun's request, I had snapped some photos as souvenir purpose when I visited the historic state which gave birth to many sultans in the country. To their knowledge, their ancestors , like ours, are pendatang. The difference is, our ancestors came to work while their ancestors came while escaping enemies and avoiding capture.

p/s: Missing pictures are chicken rice balls in He Ji Restaurant (和记) and satay celup in Ban Lee Siang (萬里香)

Last but not least, I have re-activated my Facebook but I won't use it as frequent as I used to. Internet is not Facebook. After all, there are many wonders one can do with internet. One of it is reading Naruto.

Gain and lost

Couple of months ago, an incident inevitably broke out. I almost lost you but we managed to keep the differences aside and moved on. That was at the expenses of losing interest on Rynn's songs, a rather surprising fact to a die hard fan like myself. His songs hold no meaning to me already. Many a time you requested me to sing. While his songs evaporated on the historical night itself, I couldn't do as you ordered. The very songs which I sang thousand times no longer sink in my brain like they used to. Without a second thought, all his posters and news articles were rid from my treasure box.

Unfortunately, another similar event took place last week. The previous post wasn't sufficiently informative so I might as well clear the mess here. This time as well, Edwin and I are still intact. Difference was, it was the interest to online that the event claimed. Simply put, I don't have the mood to online and this seems to last for more than a week. That explain my hiatus from msn all this while. In addition, my Facebook was deactivated accordingly. No hint that I will make a come back this soon. Undoubtedly, no change of heart but a change in me. Whether it is a good or bad sign is not me or you to decide. I blame no single soul for the change.

A brief update about me. My time is largely spent on Diablo and Diablo II. Hell mode in Diablo II is no joke. Even at level 98, I barely able to stand against Baal. Anyhow, my sorceress cleared her path and ranked herself the Matriarch. OMG playing Diablo at this age makes me so outdated. But it was pure satisfaction extracted when Baal disappeared into thin air. Now it's time to put other characters to test.

I read One Piece, 586 chapters in a month. Amazing, no?

Also, I am still waiting a professor's reply whether to absorb me as his master student or not. It's been ages already. No company approached me for interview. I was like an abandoned cat with despair eyes. If the situation persists by July, I have to force money to flow in.

Few bloggers have privatized their blogs during my hiatus. I don't have right to question and they don't have to entertain me. Who am I? Feel childish if I approach them. I was stunned a while for not being informed. I prefer to think of it only as a misfortune rather than ponder their true reasons. Surely, it is none of my business but it disheartened that I wasn't invited to read. The puzzled feeling... eh eh eh? With full respect I supported their decisions. If I can read that wouldn't be called privatization, right?

That aside, I had my 1st anniversary recently. An anniversary of a friendship. He couldn't coincidentally approach me like that. He must have done his homework properly. I can't be wrong. I appreciate his sincerity very much that we celebrated with sushi. Hopefully we will meet some day.

Ultraman kept busy

Monsters keep popping out. Ultraman is busy fighting monsters. Die, 富贵们. Die, Bleach. Die, blogspot. Die, traffic jam. Die die die. Diew diew diew.

1. Lottery
My dad kena lottery 2 weeks ago. Although it's just a consolation RM 180, he was so happy and told us the good news. My mum asked him to buy a DVD player with USB connection so that she can watch all her downloaded dramas on TV instead of computer. Guess what? They went out, 3 hours later back with a 32" LG LCD TV, at the price of RM 1800 after discount. What the fuck? Did he kena RM 180 or 1800? After double confirm, my dad failed maths kao kao 'coz the lottery was only RM 180.

2. Tagged
Yin Koon tagged me for my Christmas wish list. Honestly I wasn't excited for Christmas or any celebration. For me everyday is the same. Someone dies. Someone is born. Christmas is no different from the normal days we're going through. Abstractly, I wish I have a better outlook, clear of acne. I know this is impossible that is why I say abstractly. Concretely, I want to replace my 'injured' CRT monitor to an LCD. Can I use the LCD TV as my monitor? Need technical opinion from you.

3. FYP
FYP itself isn't giving me stress but the people around are. The repetitive 'stress' by my comrades which weighted on me for a month, is finally lifted. He happy, they happy, I happy, everyone happy? Hopefully.

4. Fibres
Counted what I had for my meals, I was lacking fibres down my gut. Blame the 'stress'. So dinner for today was big plate of broccoli goreng cauliflower. Few minutes later my tunnel was smoothly cleared!

5. Addiction
Kind of addicted to Mike lately, he is quickly running out. Need to re-stock soon. Trust me, Mike gives good pleasuring skill and I assure you his top-notch service.

6. Love
I believe we've entered into a new phase of relationship. Some say it's the boring phase. I term this stable phase. We still tip off arguments here and there but the big ones are reduced. Less ill-tempered already. We've finally exchanged roles for once. And most importantly I am glad we are still together. But considering the rate of spending, I won't have enough for our anniversary. Suggestion?

Why do I wake up so early to post, you say? Ya just finished fighting a toilet monster. So get ready to check out my 20mM complex has fully dissolved or not.

A forced hiatus

Streamyx's terminated last June. My another 'hurry' and promptly made decision, out of my anger without second thought. The only reason to bother about Streamyx is the RM 110 debt to be cleared (which I don't think I will pay).

Now that the line's terminated, I survive on Edwin's Streamyx. He's a good boy (puji first). Since he doesn't use the line in KL while he studies in Kampar, I muka tebally grabbed the line and used it as I wish. The bill is sent to his dad, not me. Again I muka tebally do not pay a cent for using his Streamyx. Not that I care though.

Problem always occur when he's back to KL. I have to return him the line 'coz he needs to online and play Restaurant City and Country Story. Without internet, I am a dead bored zombie. I am useless without internet. I am no one without internet. To be honest, I feel happier when he goes back Kampar 'coz by then I can connect to Facebook again (already puji, don't angry please >.<). Although I feel berat hati to let him go, I can't help to have that thought once awhile ^^. The problem do not arise until yesterday.

As of yesterday he came back for semester break. For 3 months straight he is staying here probably do nothing but to online whole day. As the title suggest, I lost the ability to online for free, thus a forced hiatus to everything including Facebook, blog, FYP research, hotmail, Bleach and Conan manga. I have basically lost my entire self. Now is your only chance to surpass me in Restaurant City, don't you think so? Yap Choon Khen XD. Miss the chance and you'll never have another.

Hopefully I can replace my Streamyx with more reliable service. My previous service was Streamyx 512kb at RM 66. I ain't paying more than that just for internet. I ain't paying services that bind me with their contracts as I might need to move house and in case the line's fixed. P1 first came to my thought. But I heard that RM 40 package is darn turtle slow. Optical Communication for my apartment cost RM 200 installation fees and contract of 2 years. I was thinking of DiGi broadband, as I received some compliments from its users. How true can they be, I still need to find out. Any suggestion, anyone?

But now I really regret terminating my 3+ years Streamyx without considering the consequences. Streamyx did not step on my tail. Although Streamyx is not a big hoo haa, I have no problem accessing all pages I wanted to. Yet I terminated it and all blames go to my mum. Therefore from now on I have to retreat from the internet world. Maybe I could use this time to purify my soul from the virtual addiction. Till I find a suitable internet provider service that can fulfill my expectation in terms of cost and speed, goodbye everyone. Hopefully it will not take long. I swear this hiatus is a boring and lonely one.

Whoever wants to contact me please do so via handphone (I totally doubt anyone will pay attention to what I write). Anyway just in case, dial my 016-6xxxxx3 if you need anything.

I humbly return the line to you, the real owner of Streamyx that I am currently using.

Till then, no more late ghost for me.

Jino and his 7th week

I have entered the 7th week of my 14 weeks semester. Half the semester's gone and UTAR is about to repeat the tradition where we students are challenged to perform equilibristics of practical reports and tutorials on the nose at the same time juggle assignments and midterms with gymnastics. I too am not exempted from these challenges. I am already in my 3rd year yet I still fail to adapt to this miserable uni environment.

13 July
Enzymology assignment is handed in today. The good news - the assignment only costs us a week of sweat. And I am greatly satisfied when I merely laid my fingers on it. My job is simply proofreading and compiling their research. Did I mention they had done a good job in providing me chances to slack off? I mean, the language used is so superb that I couldn't see any wrong. OMG you would think that they've copied and pasted. Yea, no doubt they copy paste. Heck, I care no more. The bad news - I didn't contribute much. I personally think that the hardest task in the assignment is not to search for the content but to fill the contribution forms. Imagine your lecturer asks you to tell him what did you do for the assignment and you tell him you just suck up. It's tough to tell him that so we boasted something just for the sake of filling the forms. Describing our contributions would be easy if no marks are allocated for this part. Haiz...

14 July
The night is so intense. Watching the straight fight between PAS and BN in Manek Urai by-election is fun to some extend. The 6th by-election in Malaysia after the 12th general election is being held following the death of incumbent assemblyman of PAS of a heart attack. But the most exciting part end up a big let down as PAS rules at only majority 65 votes. I am expecting more than that puny amount. That aside, I am never on PAS's side. I'm against BN. I am on DAP's side.

My gor's birthday falls on the same day too. Of 'coz its not as exciting as the by-election. I am not in good term with him and we've never talk for as long as I remember.
____________________________________________________________________

15 July
FTIR report itself takes away 4 precious days. Probably longer if not with Greg's help (must puji him a bit). Thanks to him, I am able to understand the whole concept, able to clear the misty confusion at ridiculous speed. It was then completed under pressure by deadlines and other in-waiting tasks in list. And I must thank Greg again for making it fast for me. But of 'coz I myself is undeniably smart (must puji myself a bit also) 'coz if I am not, I won't be able to catch his hints, will I?

I was misinformed that there are 2 Immunology reports and 1 FTIR report to be submitted on the same day as my Immunology midterm (15 July). Who's fault? Or is it me who took the wrong message? Anyway it took me so long to find out that midterm is postponed to the following day, FTIR can be submitted on the next day after midterm while Immunology reports are to be submitted the following week. Thumbs up Blur King. I've completed my FTIR report by the time I realize. If I know any earlier, I would definitely have revised for my midterm first.

Oh yeah! Final Year Project result is out! Not the result as in result. Title selection result is out today! Yea I got selected on my 2nd choice Dr. Ng Chew Hee's Inhibition of restriction enzymes by metal complexes. And I should be conducting in pair with Piew if nothing goes wrong. Quite lucky I am not dropped out for 2nd round of selection.
____________________________________________________________________

16 July
My Immunology midterm ends in peace. Rest in peace and die in pieces. Though I have a very fond interest in Immunology since primary school but studying under pressure doesn't work. I agree with the lecturer to one point - today's test is nothing but pure brain work. Perhaps she doesn't know how much memorizing irritates me, I gave her a smile confection of curse and hatred. Imagine more midterms are tailing up. CPR please! I am short of breath.

Which week can I excuse myself? I want to drop by Kampar before my study week commences.
____________________________________________________________________

17 July
To reward myself in conjunction of upcoming weekends, I declared today as a holiday just for me. How is the day spent? Ermm... Does formatting baby no. 1 count? Besides losing MSN due to error in formatting, I couldn't come out with something that worth more than to sleep through the day. Yea I sleep the whole day to recover from my sleeping disorder. But a day is never enough. I'm sorry I still have Immunology reports and Instrumental assignment to start from scratch.
____________________________________________________________________

Random
I suck. I let myself addicted to Restaurant City. I wasted much time during the busy week to max my dish levels and to renovate my restaurant. 5 days are all it takes to reach lvl 20 and is still growing at a decent speed. Oh I need to mention his name here again. Thanks to Greg's donation, my restaurant looks nicer now. His atomic stoves and toilet bowls really of great help. That makes him owns 31% of my restaurant share.

Growing business - currently level 20

On another occasion, I come back to Utopia indulgence. The non-graphic online war game was my favourite 7 years ago. Now I am back! I was supposedly growing at the speed of light when 5 different attackers marched across my province and claimed more than 1000 acres total of land in 3 days. Feel so down TT. They left my province half-crippled.

In an unrelated story, my mum downloaded So You Think You Can Dance. I am not sure which season is this. Probably season 5. I didn't realize that reality contest can turn out to be very interesting. Even the top 20 show great performance every episode. Personally I like Brandon a lot. He can dance gracefully like a girl yet he is masculine! Woah. And I like Mary Murphy and her 38 shout XD. Kind of addicted to this contest as well.

And below are some of the random, candid pics taken by my friends.

Turbulent changes in time - 27 July '08

Time passes by just as I utter breathlessly in the struggle of life. Time passed by too quickly and me who is non-athletic form of human barely able to catch a breath. Why can't we stop the time from moving? Why can't we stop river from flowing?

Exams flooded into my schedules simultaneously, yet there's no motivation to study till the right time came. Microbiology, Management of Principles, Metabolism, Enzymology... I was lucky enough to pass my Management paper, but I can confirm that I will fail my Microbiology paper with shitty kitty bloody betty colour. Metabolism and Enzymology are in the stable condition till further notice. My midterm 1 passed just like that, and the next Midterm 2 will drop by very soon. Real soon. I feel suffocated. I need more time. I have 2 damn big panda eyes already. Instead of sleeping 10 pm, I start to have habit to sleep at 1 or 2 am. Doing revision is very stressful, especially when you are a dilettante. Is this the uni life that was supposed to be relaxing and enjoyable? Why do I feel even harder compared to form 6? It's as if I fell into a swamp and need help from anyone who passes by to pull me out. Early this sem I told myself, I told my friends, I told them I won't borrow or copy anyone's lab report. But gradually, I start borrowing and "use it as references" at dire times (when the deadline is near). The 'GOD' reminded me when we were chatting in library. He looked at me unsatisfied, but yes he was right. I broke my own promise, basicly relying too much on friends. I rely too much on him. From now on, I will depend on myself and not the 'GOD'. Maybe just a little... We must learn to release stress, whether it's studies stress or it is family pressure or relation conflicts. I enjoy the time we hang around in BTS, Sg Wang, Midvalley, Pavilion or even JJ in Wangsa Maju. Thanks.

UTAR life has changed me a lot. Now my computer can surf net for info rather than just chatting in msn and download movies. I learn to pool and bowl once awhile. I learn to talk crap. All these, thanks to my friends. I proudly present The Pneumonia Gang (废 gang) aka Single Club. Members: miao - kRazy pieW, kek - Im NooB K3K, sk - Im NooBlet louis, and bui bui - Ray Tan). In unison, we fight for each other in many battlefields, such as copy reports, fake signatures in attendance list, study partners, play mates and etc. At least, I think I have found my 靠岸... which will guide me for another 2 years through. Few years back I was bound to ego and image (if I have any) that must be uphold while dark shadows tailed me from the back. Now I have released myself from the cage and start to realize how beautiful outside world can be. I start smiling and laughing, acting and moving like a sotong, talk very loud and shamelessly. My true self has shocked many friends. However behind my smile is still a mask that even I cannot recognise. I do not try to hide it, it's just hidden. It is the unpresentable ugly side of me. The 10 years mask was well hidden and there will never be a right time to destroy it. I remember Jekyll and Hyde...

Biochem Year 2 Sem 1 Group 1 celebrated a lot of his coursemates birthday. We celebrated Siau Chien's birthday on 12 June, Shiau Li's on 30th June and Carol's on July 08. We are planning for See Lok's celebration on 30 July at karaoke and steamboat. Wish them all the best.

林宇中 new album 干物世界 was released 10th July but I only manage to grab it on 16th. That was the day (16 July) 林宥嘉 came to Sg Wang too. So we (Piew, Shiau Li, Kelvin and me) watched the performance together while Sze Koon and bui bui went somewhere else. I started listening to other artists such as 林宥嘉 and 杨宗纬 thanks to Piew my buddy (check out Krazy pieW in my friends list). I cannot deny 杨宗纬 is a good singer, very talented and lucky performer but 林宥嘉 is a bit off. Lari music and broken voice during the performance that day was not tolerable. Listening to the very same songs by 林宇中 for many years, I think it's time for me to change a bit and accept new changes. Maybe I shouldn't keep myself being exposed, maybe I need more input. I am in the middle of un-conservative-ing myself. I am afraid of new thing. New things mean new faces, new environment, need more effort to adapt. But all these are needed for turbulent changes and I know I can do it. I have made my 1st step and there will be another step to the road not taken. Few years back music is very disturbing pollution thanks to Linkin Park. Now I found a new essence to my life which was music. 林宇中 as the energy and motivation source while 杨宗纬 is the filler...

Since I had kept myself long enough from exposure, I think 林宇中 new album would be very suitable. But after listen properly to all songs, I was quite disappointed. "Quite". Only few songs that I like, while other songs are so so. The album consisting of 13 tracks:
01. 上楼 (just tune only)
02. 干物女*
03. 远远*
04. 改嫁*
05. 瓶盖*
06. 维他命C我加你*
07. 放空 (just tune only)
08. 第六个地点*
09. 逆跳表
10. 至少爱过*
11. 幸福马戏团*
12. 抢玫瑰 (featured JJ)
13. 下楼 (just tune only)

The songs with * sign are the only few that I like. There might be changes as the previous songs such as 不打烊的店 and 猫头鹰. Am I expecting too much from a 30 year old guy? Is this his limit? I believe he can do better in future and I am anticipating his 签唱会 in KL. I might fall in love with other songs when he perform live just as 不打烊的店 and 猫头鹰. This is music, nothing is certain. Everyone has different taste but my senses are more complicated. Now he is running several events in Perak. I just hope he doesn't come to KL when my finals hit the clock.

As of 16th July, my rose bloomed a rose. Of 'coz a rose plant blooms out a rose, but I mean... Yeah there is a flower in the rose pot!!! I cut the flower previously on 26 May and now 16 July it blooms another new one. My 1st flower!!! That's not all. 27 July, there are 5 more little flower buds ready to bloom. This is another great success for me. I can sell them when Valentine's around the corner earning a penny or two. Or as Kek suggested, I can give it to someone I love? But definitely not Pei Zhi or package G. I will keep the rose stay healthy and grow. In the future if I fail to become Biochemist, at least I can start selling flowers.

My last hair cut was on 5th May. After 3 months of wearing "helmet" (means thick hair), I had my hair cut at Genting Klang Silver Cut after Enzymology midterm. The bad point is he took such a long time to cut making me almost fell asleep. But the good point is he cut my hair and I think it's quite nice compared to previous cut. But another bad point is, he didn't teach me how to style my hair. But a good point is I think it is quite cheap considering RM 15 compared to my previous RM 13 QQ CuT. I need professional Sze Koon and bui bui to teach me how to wax my hair. Now that I have a new look, je ne sais quoi attitude (my true behaviour), friends, all I need now is not much of luck to succeed. As Robert Falcon Scott said, "To Strive, To Seek, To Find but Not To Yield". FKL lion patrol's motto : Spirit is Success.

Hectic, busy, pathetic but joyful, care-free lifestyle with higher aims - 15 June 2008

The last day of my holiday season ended on last 25th of May. Which means my new sem started on 26th May. I am now officially a Year 2 Sem 1 Biochem student. 1st year passed very quickly. Last sem my GPA was 2.8000 while my CGPA has increased to 2.7142. At least it's increasing. This sem I am taking 5 subjects in total. Or rather as Ben said, 5 papers. Microbiology, is a killing paper. Above 70% of the students failed last sem. Can you imagine how does this paper will kill me next? Principles of Nutrition is also a killing paper. We study RDAs, AIs, ULs, EARs, AMDRs, EERs rather than vitamins, minerals or food nutrients. The next paper is Metabolism 1. The lecturer's way of teaching is the worst I have ever seen. Imagine I have to use camera to snap pics as she is not giving notes to us, and yet we have to study so many machines and the theories working on it. But a good point about her is that she was baby's coursemate. Besides that, Management Principles is suicidal. The lecturer and tutor is 2 different people. The lecture is bored as hell 'coz I don't understand a thing. To be more precise, her words cannot enter my ear. However, the tutorial is the only time i enjoyed the most. The tutor is a funny guy. Enzymology 1 is the only subject that I can understand. It's about enzyme protein. I had been studying for the last 2 years haha. So I guess this is the only subject to score this year?

The schedule for this sem is a very head spinner. The time itself is laughable. From 9 am to 6 pm on Monday with 4 hours in between, I have too much time to spend. But when I drive back home after class, I will reach home only at 9 pm due to the strawberry. On Tuesday from 10 am to 7.30 pm. Yes, 7.30 pm. No joke 7.30 pm. With 3 hours break in between. By the time I reach home, it will be 9 pm (if there's no rain/ accident/ strawberry). Wed is a bit relaxing. 9 am to 2 pm. No complain. But the next on Thursday is 9.30 am to 7.30 pm with 2 hours break. Yes again 7.30 pm. Haiz... On Friday is from 9 am to 4 pm. Sometimes after Tuesday and Thursday class, I will offer some girls for a ride back home. Err actually they ask for my favour. 'Coz its dangerous to take bus back home, especially when there's no one else in the bus. UTAR is totally brainless 'coz they can approve such schedule as if they are meant to torture us little children. On Friday I drop some of my friends at lrt after school 'coz they want to go back hometown.

So far this sem has 2 assignments. Management Principles and Principles of Nutrition. But I had completed my part in Management Principles. Now left only Principles of Nutrition which I have no idea how to start yet. Practical reports are not as hell as the last 2 sems. 'Coz we are required to submit mostly short reports. This sem I am going to break my record in my whole life. I will buy a book called Microbiology for my studies. This is the most expensive book I have ever bought, RM 83.

I do not consider all this as disaster (yet). The real disaster is yet to come in finals. I treat them as challenges. Life is more interesting when there are challenges. Although sleep very early at night, but waking up early in the morning is hard. Tiredness in the morning + boring subjects = Bedtime. But there are a few people that I need to thank. 1st is Grace. She gave me a poster in 1 morning. It's none other than baby's poster. It's a real surprise 'coz I never expect something nice to happen in the morning. The next is Shiau Li. She gave me a few of baby's brochure on 29th May morning. Very unexpected as well. 'Coz I have never seen it yet. She took 3 copies for me from KLCC Sony Center. So I too took at least 10 copies from Midvalley Sony Center when I attend U6BF gathering last 4th June. The last person to thank is Piew!!! He took 3 copies of baby's some sort of magazine from Sg Wang. 8 pages magazine where 7 of them are baby's pages. So thankful Piew took for me 'coz when I went to Sg Wang today I couldn't find it.

This sem although does not start with good things, but I am motivated as day passes by. I am getting used to the hectic shedule, and I am no more a blur guy. This sem I will definitely do better than previous sems (although it's practically not logical, but I will make it happen).

Recently there was a gathering for my class as well. U6BF 2005/2006 is famous for close friendships, the noisiest class in the whole form 6in VI. That day I met few of my classmates that seldom attend gatherings. Si Toh, Justina, Yee... Really miss them. We had our gathering in Midvalley Chili's on 4th June. 18 people attended the gathering and Chili's was so noisy like pasar malam. Thx to the contribution of all of us [Wai Yin, Fiona, Laushu, Kian Ti, Ben, Li-shia (not classmate), Li Ling, Len Yi, Yee, Phon, Phakai, Vincent, Wai Loon, Ching Yeng, Si Toh, Justina, and me]. OH SORRY I HAVE FORGOTTEN CHU CHUN HONG!!! HE WENT BACK EARLY SO I HAVE FORGOTTEN HIM HEHE - added and edited 20th June 2008 It ended very late. And it's a silly day for me too. The next day is the increase of petrol price to RM 2.70. But I only fill RM 10 'coz I don't know bout the increase.

On 12th June, Biochem Group 1 celebrated Siau Chien's 21st birthday. We had a mini party in UTAR cafeteria during break time. We bought her a Cheeze Chocolate Cake from Secret Recipe. Don't ask me why this cake. But it's a nice cake. At least I think it's nice. I wonder how many people will remember my birthday? I know I have forgotten Kah Loong's, and yet I have not wished him yet. Haha...

Rynn my baby is going to release his new album very soon. Nowadays MY fm always play its theme song 听见辛副 and baby's new song 干物女. I am waiting for 10 July, the date of his new album 干物世界 launching. Today is the presale of his new album. Those who make booking will get his poster and a diary. So I planned to go with someone, but none wants to wait with me from 12 pm till the event starts. So Kelvin accompanied me after his work at 2 pm. I waited alone till the time comes. There was an auction for Sze Chuan victims before my baby's event. So I stayed there to watch. It was very shocking to see those people doing charity. A girl student can offer RM 800 for Farenheit poster, while a guy can offer RM 1500 for SHE's handmade wrist chain. Are they nuts? They are not doing charity. They are chasing fames. I cannot understand how youngsters think. They are filthy rich.

When the booth for baby opened, I was the 3rd to purchase the album haha. I am proud of myself. There are free stickers as well. Then he sang his new song 干物女 and sign all the posters. He even signed my previous 2 albums haha... But after the album, all I can eat for the whole month is cucumber and sand. I am totally broke. But it's definitely worth it, and 1 of my dreams came through again this year...

Many people had been asking me the same question recently. "Jino, have you moved?" I must shamefully answer, "NO". I think the renovation progress since then is 0. If you treat me as friends, don't mention this thing in front of me anymore. Thank you very much.

Life now is up and down. There's no guarantee what will happen next. I need to make myself busy to hide my sorrowness. I pity those in Sze Chuan 'coz I am more lucky than them. I cry when I heard the news. So many people died innocently yet so many useless people still living in this world. I might be one of the useless type, but I am changing. I want to become Ultraman, strong enough to survive in this world... I am ULTRAMAN. HI YEAK!!!

05 May 2008 - Glimpse of My Sem Break

Now it’s my turn to be free. 03 May ’08, 1600 pm. After my last paper UESE1204 Structural Biochemistry, I felt so light. It’s as if something was lifted away, as if I can fly. But I never jump from the building. ‘Coz there’s no need to. I hope I can pass all the papers with grade B and above. My Maths and Chemistry were like hell. I don’t think there’s anything to think bout the past but hope for the best to come.

After the last paper, I had a thought of doing a list of what to do during the sem break. I had a lot in my mind, but I wonder how many things can I accomplished in just a week? Let’s just try and see…

a) Clear up the messy room
b) Go to Cameron Highlands (7th May)
c) Buy cactus (rose) from Cameron Highlands
d) Celebrate suzanne's birthday on 17th May
e) Collect my camera charger in Midvalley (4th June)
f) Complete baby’s drama download (20th June)
g) Apply Celcom Postpaid
h) Return all Form 6 Chemistry books to Chu (I think Form 6 books were useful compared to those recommended by lecturer)
i) Return all Form 6 Maths Kasturi notes to Khor Kah Loong
j) Buy Hitsugaya miniature
k) Reformat my computer
l) Pay bill for next sem

There’re only 10 of them. I think it shouldn’t be a problem for me right? Just as a ‘spoiler’, I will be using Celcom in the future. But 016 will be remained as well. And I want to plant a cactus too. I hope it blooms flower rather than drooping to the ground. "LIFE is MEANINGLESS if we hv lost our DIRECTION..." – Kah Loong. That’s why I try to put everything into a piece, and making me easier to decide what to do than wasting time thinking…
