Langkawi, an archipelago of 99 islands in the Andaman Sea is a duty free island. If you google up Langkawi, from Langkawi, the Legendary Island it has been renamed Langkawi, the Jewel of Kedah so that international tourists will acknowledge Langkawi as part of Kedah.

I'd been to Langkawi many years ago, probably 10 years ago? We planned this trip many months ahead and we managed to book cheap flight on Air Asia, thanks to KN. The original plan was a 4 person trip together with KN and Austin, but we were ffk-ed by KN few months earlier and at very last minute Austin too withdrew from the trip. So we are left to explore the island by ourselves.

Internet really provides us a lot of info that we want. The routes and journey can be foreseen and scheduled. Places of attraction can be fitted into the schedule draft easily. The problem is, planning is never easy when you are alone. Especially when chances of plan B, even plan C or D are indefinite.

I wanted to try island hopping and eagle feeding but financially I have to drop it. So we will travel around in the main island for 3 days 2 nights, by car. Who knows, island hopping and eagle feeding combo was just RM 50 per pax. So cheap! - edited and added 23rd May 2009

Our budget for the trip is RM 500 per person, including chocolates and souvenirs. We booked the cheapest Air Asia and stay in budget hotel and inn. That's how a cheapskate plans his trip! That's me ^^...

YES! We are travelling tomorrow 19th May by Air Asia to Langkawi. Finally all packing are done, and it was tedious. I try packing lightly for the trip but I don't know why it weights 10+ kg. As I am all excited for the holiday, I can't wait any longer for chilling out, nature sight seeing and catching some food.

We'll be back home to KL on 21st May in the afternoon, if plan proceeds accordingly.
